Begin the Financial Aid Process Make Deposit Now Freshman applicants may submit personal (unofficial) copies of transcripts and/or test scores in order to obtain a provisional offer of admission and an estimated financial aid award. In such a case the applicant’s admission letter will clearly state that the offer is conditional. Students offered conditional admission may not register for classes at AMU until an official final transcript and/or test score has been submitted directly from the high school and/or testing company (College Board or ACT) and verified by the Office of Admission. Students will be notified by letter when their conditional status has been removed. Official documents must be received by August 1, 2020. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA To be eligible for regular undergraduate admission to the University, students are expected to meet the following standards: High school unweighted grade point average (GPA) equal to or above 2.8 or college GPA equal to or above 2.6 on a 4.0 scale. Due to COVID-19, students are not required to submit test scores in order to be reviewed for admission. However, submission of test scores is recommended for scholarship purposes. Students are required to complete a one-on-one discussion with an admissions counselor for consideration for acceptance prior to being accepted. In some instances the University may accept students who do not meet the above criteria but upon closer review indicate a probability for success. The University considers all of the above factors in reaching an admissions decision. The University reserves the right to administer placement tests to admitted students in order to improve the advisement process, ensure placement in the correct course, and enhance the probabilities for student success.
