Dr. Anthony DeGregoria serves as Professor of Practice in Mechanical Engineering for Ave Maria University and is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education.
With 25 years of experience as a senior officer and engineer in the United States Air Force, Dr. DeGregoria has worked with dozens of universities, government labs, small and large businesses, and operational units throughout the Nation on some of the world’s most advanced air and space system designs. He brings a wealth of real-world engineering experience into the classroom, and his leadership spans the full life cycle of world-class mechanical systems from cradle to grave. His military experiences include:
- Flight Test Engineering (Eglin AFB, FL)
- Operational Analysis, Aircraft Modernization, and Sustainment Engineering (Robins AFB, GA)
- Aircraft Heavy Maintenance Operations (Ellsworth AFB, SD)
- Aerospace Systems Research and Development (Wright-Patterson AFB, OH)
- Engineering Math Assistant Professor (United States Air Force Academy, CO)
- Installation Management (Whiteman AFB, MO)
- Materials and Manufacturing Research and Development (Wright-Patterson AFB, OH)
As a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and the Air Force Institute of Technology, Dr. DeGregoria’s academic specializations include structural materials, elasticity, and optimization, including modeling and experimentation. His graduate research focuses on the structural performance and oxidation of ultra-high temperature ceramics, in addition to alternative methods for the guidance and navigation of aircraft.
