Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic talent, performing talent, participation in certain activities or special events, or other specific designated criteria. All students are holistically evaluated for eligibility upon acceptance to Ave Maria University. No scholarship application is required. For more information about scholarships, please reach contact your admissions counselor. Thomas S. Monaghan Founders Scholarship The Thomas S. Monaghan Founder’s Scholarship Program (FSP) is designed to form students who are grounded in the Catholic Faith and equipped to become active leaders in the campus and culture, to foster a fuller participation in the great tradition of a Catholic liberal arts education. More than simply a scholarship, the program will place students within a cohort of peers and provide opportunities for growth by introducing them to professors and staff leaders who will serve as mentors. Students will also participate in planned programs and activities that are meant to help them grow in their understanding and ability to live out and share the Catholic Faith in their daily lives. These include weekly meals, required reading, and participation in campus events. Amount: $4,000 yearly / ($2,000 per semester) Duration: Up to 4 years as an undergraduate student Expectations Applicant must… Attend weekly theology events – one night per week. One weekly meal or meeting with your group, daily devotions and required reading Attendance at 75% scheduled Theology events each semester Noncompliance with these expectations may result in loss of the scholarship. EASTERN CATHOLIC BRILLIANT JEWEL SCHOLARSHIP Amount: $7,000 yearly / ($3,500 per semester) Duration: Up to 4 years as an undergraduate student Requirements Applicant must… Be a first-time college freshman (NOT be a returning AMU student) who is accepted for admission at Ave Maria University for Fall 2022 Minimum High School GPA of 3.0 (unweighted) or above ACT score of 23 or above, or a SAT score of 1140 or above, or a CLT score of 75 Maintain a university GPA of 2.5 or higher Be a practicing Catholic and member of an Eastern Catholic Church. Provide an endorsement letter from his / her Eastern Catholic Church. This scholarship may not be combined with any other regional or donor funded scholarship. MARY CROSS TIPPMANN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Amount: $5,000 per year Type: 4 years Qualifications: Recipients must be from the Diocese of Fort Wayne – South Bend Recipients must be freshmen Recipients must have either graduated from a Catholic high school within the aforementioned boundaries or be a member in good standing with a Catholic parish within the said boundaries. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded THE ROBERT & MARY ULLEN SCHOLARSHIP (SIP) Amount: Varies Duration: Up to 4 years as an undergraduate student Requirements: Declare and pursue the Shakespeare in Performance Minor. Yearly renewal of the scholarship based on a performance evaluation by Dr. Travis Curtright. How to Apply: Complete electronic Audition Form available from Dr. Travis Curtright or your Admissions Counselor. Required uploads include: A 300 word statement of intent which explains your background and why joining SIP is the next step for you. A headshot. Complete an audition. The Audition Form will give you the option to schedule an in-person audition. If you are unable to audition in person, upload a 10-14 line monologue from a Shakespeare Play. Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, preferably one who can speak to your theatrical background. Directions for the submission of the letter of recommendation will be included in the Audition Form. After review of the application form, you may be asked to submit a song audition. If so, someone will be in communication with you.
