Her story is simple, yet profound. Sister Dominga was born in London and grew up in Oxford. Her vocation was an act of God, a total calling. She was not necessarily willing to be a Sister, but the call was so strong. God called her to leave a promising career as a literary agent in 1979 to join the Missionaries of Charity, serving the poorest of the poor. Sister Dominga took her first vows with Mother Teresa in Rome on December 8, 1982 and her final vows in Washington D.C. in 1988. Since then, she has served with the MCs in New York, Washington D.C., Saint. Louis, Chicago, Indiana, and is currently serving in Atlanta. Sister Dominga knew Mother Teresa and Mother knew her, and her relationship with Mother is stronger since Mother’s passing as she is more accessible!
