Here are just a few of the great RAs on campus!
Hey y’all, my name is Josie Hartney and I’m from Augusta, Georgia! I’m a senior Biology major with hopes to pursue graduate school and work in the medical field. I’m a big fan of traveling, waterskiing, eating, playing sports, crafting, and having an authentic relationship with God. My past three years at Ave have been incredible, and I’m so thankful for the friends I’ve met and the opportunities I’ve had to get involved with intramural athletics, service through the Mother Teresa Project, my household, and so much more. I know this year’s going to be great in John Paul II Hall and I can’t wait to see what it has in store!
Hailing from Vienna, Virginia, Mike Reilly is a senior at Ave who loves playing soccer and rugby and is always down to go out for a run. He is a politics major and has just graduated from Officer Candidate School USMC and will commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in May. He will be an RA in Joseph dorm this year and is excited to welcome back those returning as well as meet Ave’s newest members!
Hi! I’m Maeve Alflen – a northern Michigan girl who fell in love with SW Florida. I’m currently a junior majoring in biochemistry with a pre-med focus, and I plan to go on to Med school after Ave. When I’m not living in the library, you can find me in an inner tube drinking La Croix at the ocean or planning my next adventure across the globe. Growing up with a Catholic education, Mother Teresa has always held a special place in my heart, but after coming to Ave and becoming a part of the Mother Teresa Project, my love for her has grown so much deeper. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be attending her canonization with other Ave students in September and cannot wait to see what special graces she has in store for the Ave community. Welcome to Ave! We’re so happy to have you.
Welcome everybody! My name is Luis Gonzalez and I am a nursing major here at Ave Maria University. Although originally from Hartford, Connecticut I have spent most of my life in the Sunshine State, more specifically, in Orlando, Florida. I am also an athlete here at AMU being a member of the Gyrene football team. One of my biggest passions is helping people, so expect my door to be open the majority of the time, free to stop by and say hello! I’m always willing to help, listen, or give advice on anything you need; so don’t be afraid to ask! I hope you all enjoy the wonderful things Ave Maria has in store for you and I can’t wait to meet you all!
My name is Victoria Antram, and I am from Phoenix, Arizona. I am a senior this year and am majoring in Theology and Political Economy and Government, the two subjects you don’t bring up at the dinner table. If I could have a tea party with anyone, I would invite: St. John Paul the Great (my favorite saint), C.S. Lewis (my favorite author), and Audrey Hepburn (my spirit animal). I’m a fan of sunset bike rides, dance parties in my room, and wearing dresses.
Hi my name is Emily Bennett, I am from Clarkston, MI. I am going to be a Junior this year in the Education program. I am so excited to be the residence assistant on the fourth floor of Mother Theresa with Theresa Antunes. You can often see me rollerblading around campus, sometimes falling. I love going on adventures and hanging out at the beach. I am going on a pilgrimage to Rome for five days this fall to Mother Theresa canonized as a saint and I am so thrilled. I like to be very involved at school I was a cheerleader, the baseball team manager, an intramural referee, as well as a member of the student activities board. This year I will continue to be a Mother Theresa Scholar, a member of the adventure club, and I will be the leader of the Mary Magdalene household alongside Mary Rexroat. I think that being involved has really helped me to grow to love Ave even more. I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends this fall and getting to know the new freshman and transfer students.
My name is Jeff Simpson and I am from Manchester, New Hampshire. I am going into my junior year at Ave as a biochemistry major in the pre-med program. I hope to attend medical school after college. In my free time I love watching and playing sports, especially hockey! I look forward to meeting you all this coming year!
Been breaking hearts and cracking skulls since 1995. I’m a History major from southwestern Michigan, near Ann Arbor. I’m up on the third floor of Joseph Hall, and this will be my second year as a Resident Assistant. I’m here for you, so don’t hesitate to come talk to me.
