Mathematics – Major Program Requirements

With a judicious choice of electives, majoring in mathematics can prepare a student for graduate school in mathematics, as well as for a wide range of careers, including science, engineering, medicine, business, government, and law.

The Mathematics Major Program consists of seven required mathematics courses, four elective mathematics courses, and two required physics courses. At the discretion of the department, students may receive advanced placement credit or transfer credit for courses. Highly motivated students are encouraged to participate in undergraduate research under the guidance of a faculty member.
