The Mailroom staff is NOT authorized to do this. You should have your key with you so that you can check your own mailbox. If you lose your key, you may apply for a new one. If you have trouble with your combination, please ask for assistance. There is no deposit required for a student mailbox; however there is a $10 charge for lost keys or keys that are not turned in. If you leave the University for more than a month (except for Christmas break), you must return your key to the Mailroom before you leave campus. If you leave campus with your key, please mail it to the Mailroom. Picking Up Packages You will receive an email to your AMU email address when your package has been processed and is ready to be picked up. Please bring a valid form of photo I.D. to the mailroom counter during business hours to retrieve your package. Packages MUST be scanned into the AMU system before they can be picked up. Even if you are notified by the carrier that your package has been delivered, wait until receiving an email from the mailroom before attempting to retrieve it. Inter-Office Mail Items for people on campus may be dropped off in the inter-office mail bin with their full name written clearly. Inter-campus items for distribution to everyone or to all students should be handed directly to a mailroom worker with clearly stated/written instructions. There are bins at the mailroom window for both outgoing and inter-office mail. For large department mailings, you may stop by the mailroom window to receive instructions. Outgoing Mail, FedEx, UPS Stamps, envelopes, and boxes are available for purchase. You may go to www.usps.gov and set up a personal account at “Click N Ship” and print out a shipping label. After securing it onto your package, you may drop it off in the “Outgoing Mail” bin or give it to a Mailroom worker at the window. You can do the same with UPS and FedEx – these carriers pick-up and drop off every week day, usually between 11am and 2pm. For outgoing USPS mail, we have a postage machine. Any packages over 12 ounces cannot be mailed with regular stamps, but will require us to print a postage label for you.
