Whats New at AMU Ave Maria University is proud to announce the opening of new facilities on campus for the use of students, faculty, and staff. Judi's Gym Hoop it up in 2023 at Judi’s Gym. This lighted, covered, outdoor basketball facility near the dorms features three full-length courts. Whether joining a pickup game or practicing your turnaround jump shot, you’ll find this facility a welcome addition to your recreation options. Courts are now open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for all students and for intramural work. Judi’s Gym was made possible thanks to a generous donation from Mr. George Schwartz in memory of his wife, Judi. View Judi’s Gym Rules Judy Fyke Practice Golf Complex Another new addition for 2023 is a golf training center and putting green. This new facility will give Gyrene golfers an on-campus home to work on their games and is also available for all students to hone their links skills. AMU Director of Golf and head coach Michael Kernicki states, “The new facility will give AMU golfers the same opportunities found by golf programs at the highest level of college athletics.” This golf facility has been made possible due to a generous donation from AMU benefactor Jim Cunningham, in memory of his “angel” Judy, who passed away in January of 2015. Golf Center Rules Judi's Gym Rules Facility Rules AMU ID required. Unauthorized use is prohibited. Court hours are from 7AM to 11PM when classes are in session. Court is for basketball use only unless otherwise authorized by AMU. Exhibit good sportsmanship and always respect all users. No horseplay, vulgar language, loud music, or inappropriate behavior. Proper footwear/gear required. Do not climb or hang on the rims. Guests must be accompanied by a current AMU student, staff, or faculty member with a university I.D. Safety Rules Participants are responsible for knowing their own physical limitations. Play at your own risk. AMU is not responsible for any accidents or injuries while using this facility. No persons under 12 years old without adult supervision. Surface may be slippery at times. No skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or anything else that would damage surfaces. No glass containers are allowed. Alcoholic beverages and/or illicit drug use strictly prohibited. Do not tag or graffiti this space. Violators subject to penalty under law. Ave Maria University reserves the right to eject any person or persons engaging in conduct that is unlawful, disruptive, abusive or offensive on the premises. AMU and its agents and officers are not responsible for any damages sustained by the ejected person or persons.
