Ave Maria University
The Minor in Catechetics has a two-fold objective. First, it seeks to give you a more profound understanding of the Catholic Faith as propagated through Holy Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the authentic proclamation of the Magisterium. Second, it prepares you to work in Catholic schools and religious education programs, serving as a messenger of the Gospel.

After graduating with a minor in Catechetics, you’ll be able to fulfill the words of Pope Saint John Paul II in his Apostolic Exhortation Catechesi Tradendae: “Every catechist should be able to apply to himself the mysterious words of Jesus: ‘My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.'”
Fast Fact: This program prepares you to become a disciple; it will equip you to guide college and youth group ministries, assist with evangelical outreach programs and become a parish leader.
