We have a jam-packed schedule of fun events to attend with your Gyrenes, as we welcome our AMU parents and alumni to campus. The full schedule for the weekend can be found below. Friday, October 21: Ave Maria Athletics Hall of Fame | 5:30 – 8:00 PM (Student Union Building) Join our Athletic Department as we celebrate the 2nd class of Ave Maria Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees: Abby Castro-Rivera (’17), Kiel Lewis (’13), and Alex Sanchez Jr. (’13)! Tickets are required for athletes, parents, and alumni invitees. You can get your tickets here. This is a private event sponsored by The Pub and Grill of Ave Maria. Oktoberfest | 7:00 – 11:00 PM (Student Union Building Lawn) After the Hall of Fame dinner, join us for our annual Oktoberfest celebration! Axe-throwing, hay rides, pumpkin-carving, and live music from our very own Immokalee Micks will be featured, as well as several activities and competitions hosted by our student clubs and households. Free food trucks and drinks will be available. For those 21 & up, please bring your state-issued ID. Saturday, October 22: Ave Maria Invitational | 7:40 AM (Ave Maria North Park) Come support Coach Alan Webb and our men’s and women’s cross country teams at our annual Ave Maria Invitational! The run will start at 7:40 a.m. in Ave Maria’s North Park (4010 Anthem Pkwy, Ave Maria, FL 34142). Wear blue and green to support our Gyrenes! Hail Mary Lecture Series | 2:30 – 4:00 PM (Henkles Lecture Hall, Academic Building) Join us for a discussion on “God, Natural Science, and Beauty” with two of our science professors: Dr. Daniel Sadasivan and Professor Brett Feger. This talk is the 2nd installment of our Hail Mary Lecture Series. Homecoming Tailgate | 4:30 – 6:30 PM ALUMNI: You can purchase your all-inclusive ticket for $35 here. This will include entry for the football game, parking, and special alumni tailgate with President Middendorf (food and alcoholic beverages included). If you have any questions, please email the Advancment Office advancement@avemaria.edu Our Homecoming game tailgate lots will open at 4:30 p.m. in the athletic lots next to the Gyrene Field. We’ll be having a special alumni tailgate with President Middendorf (runs 5:30 p.m. through half-time) at the north end of the Gyrene Field, by the scoreboard. Parking for the alumni tailgate will be off Owen’s Way. If you’re a Booster Club Member, make sure to present your pass at the gate. Booster Club parking will be available on Kelleher Street at the old tailgate lot near the beach volleyball courts, and the hospitality area will be located behind the south end zone, nearest Kelleher Street. General Admission tailgate tickets (for non-alumni) can be found here – purchasing a parking ticket gives you access to the tailgate lot. Parking for the general admission tailgate will be off Owen’s Way. Vigil Mass | 5:00 – 6:00 PM (Ave Maria Catholic Church) A Saturday Vigil Mass will be offered in the Ave Maria Catholic Church at 5:00 p.m. on October 22 (ordinary form). Football vs. St. Thomas University | 7:00 PM (Gyrene Field) Come support our Gyrenes as they take on St. Thomas University for our Homecoming game! The Knights of Columbus will be serving polish sausages at the game in honor of St. JPII’s Feast Day. Buy your tickets for the game here.
