Stone Flooring

The floors of the Oratory's nave and narthex are clad in 10,000 square feet of natural cleft Brazilian Slate tiles, ranging in size from 24" square to 8" square. The oxide in Brazilian Slate creates a unique, distinct patterning on each individual stone. The floor patterning is punctuated by thirty-three 8" x 8" custom colored terracotta tiles surrounded by bronze. Each tile has space for special family inscriptions and memorials.
