There is a 2.25 mile boardwalk tour that allows you to see 6 distinct habitats in an extremely natural setting. With its cathedral-like old growth cypress forest and abundant resident wildlife, if offers some great nature viewing and photographic experiences!
The Nature Center offers many activities, such as boat tours, nature trails, daily presentations by naturalists, canoe and kayak rentals, as well as a nature store and museum of natural history. The Briggs Nature Center offers its visitors a half-mile boardwalk that takes them on a journey through rare plant communities and a butterfly garden. Briggs is known for its abundance of bird species.
90 minute Swamp Buggy Tour through the Babcock Ranch and Telegraph Cypress Swamp. Experienced Guides offer in-depth descriptions of birds, animals, plants, and the cattle and horses that are raised on the ranch. Visitors will see panthers, Florida Cracker cattle, and many other animals living in Southwest Florida.
We have designed our trip to explore all four ecosystems that make up the ‘glades: sawgrass prairie, mangrove estuary, cypress swamps and the savannah. Your day safari includes a really spectacular airboat ride and a relaxing conventional boat ride, and the trip includes a great Southern lunch.
