Sixth Annual Ave Maria University Golf Classic in Full Swing
The Sixth Annual Ave Maria University Golf Classic is just around the corner! Scheduled for November 6-7, the two-day event begins Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. with an exciting dinner and silent auction at The Club at Mediterra, Naples. Back by popular demand is Mandy Connell, morning talk show host, WINK News Radio, who will emcee the dinner. The Golf Tournament follows on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Del Webb at Ave Maria. Lunch will follow the golf tournament at the Student Union. Golfers will have the opportunity to compete for a hole-in-one prize that is sure to please - a $10,000 shopping spree at Beckner Jewelry & Repairs located in Ave Maria and in Naples. Every person that shoots a hole-in-one on the 3rd hole will get a $10,000 shopping spree. Beckner Jewelry & Repairs is also happy to sponsor the 7th hole with a choice of airline tickets or a cruise for two and the 15th hole with a choice of a premium electronics package for a hole-in-one.
"I have enjoyed being part of this event for so many years," commented Mike Beaumier, Event Chairperson and Vice President, Suffolk-Kraft Construction. When I listen to one of our talented student scholarship recipients speak at the dinner, I feel so proud of all we have accomplished in the past six years." Since its beginning in 2003, the Golf Classic has raised nearly $600,000 for scholarships for students who would not otherwise be able to attend the University.
There are many ways to get involved in this event and sponsorship packages are still available, beginning at $1,000. Individual golf and dinner spots will be sold on a limited basis. For more information, please call Lori Cook North, Event Manager, at 239-287-0780.
