Summer programs to show high schoolers AMU life
April 3, 2007

The literary treasures of two of the 20th century's most important Christian writers is the subject of a unique program for high school juniors and seniors hosted by Ave Maria University this summer.

The program will take place on AMU's interim campus in Naples, Fla. and will introduce students to C.S. Lewis' seminal work Miracles, as well as J.R.R. Tolkien's classic The Lord of the Rings. In classes taught by Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J. and AMU associate professor of literature and acclaimed literary biographer Joseph Pearce, students will get a taste of academic life at AMU. During their week-long visit to the university's campus, high schoolers will also have the opportunity to experience the spiritual and social opportunities available to AMU students. The program, titled "C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien: Myth, Magic, and Miracles," will take place in two sessions July 8-13 and 15-20.
