Ave Maria Kicks Off Business Institute Lecture Series

Joseph P. George visited Ave Maria University on Jan. 16 to deliver the first in a series of lectures sponsored by Ave Maria's Business Institute.
George, who is the former Executive Vice President for Frank N. Magid Associates Inc., the world's leading media research and consulting company, gave a presentation on the importance of marketing and branding to mass media to AMU students, faculty and staff.
George shared his wide experience in advising TV networks and cable TV systems, as well as corporations seeking to consolidate a brand.
The Business Institute will continue to invite business executives and entrepreneurs to discuss different dimensions of the business environment.The Institute will also invite those in the political and cultural arenas who can contextualize current business activities within a global economy.

To complement students' liberal education and their formation in moral virtue, Ave Maria University offers a Certificate in Business (CiB) throught the Business Institute. The CiB requires intensive coursework (in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, Business Ethics, and Economics) and offers students opportunities to gain practical experience, career guidance, and mentoring.
Through the CiB, inside and outside the classroom, students learn principles and skills valuable in business and entrepreneurship. These activities are infused with Catholic teaching in order to inspire the students of the Institute to become Christian business leaders who will help to transform the countries in which they live.
