Mr. Monaghan Gives 70 Year Projection of AMU’s Impact on Church and Society

The vision for AMU is taking shape in many ways, and your prayers and support have been critical to this process. People often ask me, why start a new university? I answer that a university founded on faithfulness to the Church is the best way I know how to help the Church and society. Over the last couple months, I have put some numbers to my projections to show what kind of “ripple effect” I believe AMU can have! More

Napes Founders Club Closes Season Hosting Eighth Annual Founders Dinner

The Naples Founders Club completed its eighth season with a successful gala attended by almost 300 guests at the Naples Hilton on March 9, 2010.  The speakers were: Mr.  Monaghan, Chancellor of Ave Maria University, Founder of Domino's Pizza and former owner of the Detroit Tigers; Blake Gable, President of Real Estate and Minerals Management, Barron Collier  Companies; and Dr. Carole Carpenter, Vice President for University Relations.

Mr. Monaghan, after giving a university update, addressed the impact that Ave Maria University would have in 70 years, as AMU's thoroughly Catholic students assumed their places in all aspects of Church and society and the formation of families that that are Catholic to the core.

Mr. Gable spoke to developments taking place in and near the town of Ave Maria.  These included the widening of Oil Well Road, the main access road to Ave Maria, to 6 lanes and the addition of an 80 acre recreational lake. He also confirmed Barron Collier's commitment to Ave Maria's long term growth.

Dr. Carpenter stressed the importance and her appreciation of Founders and their contribution to the success of the university.

Entertainment was provided by AMU students.  After the dinner Mr. Monaghan signed copies of his book The Pizza Tiger.
