Joseph Trabbic received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Fordham University in 2008, having written his dissertation "Aquinas, God, and Ontotheology" under the direction of Fr. Joseph Koterski, S.J. His specializations are medieval philosophy, continental philosophy, philosophy of religion, and Aquinas. He also has interests in theology and analytic philosophy. He has published in the American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, the Proceedings of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, International Philosophical Quarterly, and The Heythrop Journal.
