Dr. James Peliska

James Peliska is Professor of Chemistry and Biology and the department Chair. He holds the degrees of B.S. (Chemistry) and B.S. (Biology) from Northland College, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State University. Dr. Peliska’s research interests include the study of the mechanisms of mutation generation in retroviruses leading to the development of drug resistance, and the discovery and characterization of inhibitors of retroviral (HIV) replication.
