Houston Founders Club July Meeting
July 22, 2008

In a year marking the 40th anniversary of Humanae Vitae, the Houston Founders met for an appropriate and worthwhile topic: "The Theology of the Body".   The speaker, Rev. Tom Byrne, began with a review of the recent publications available on the topic, which were passed out for review.  Given the breath of the topic, his material was well organized and presented, and at a level all could enjoy and learn as well.   The discussion that followed focused primarily on the errors that have been propagated by both clergy and teachers over the years, the impact this has had on the laity, and what can be done in the future to incorporate these teachings in to parish catechetical programs.   At the end of the meeting we united in prayer with all Founders, and prayed the official 'Founder's Prayer,' recently approved by the University.

Guest speaker Fr. Tom Byrne discussing John Paul II's work
"The Theology of the Body".

Fr. Tom Byrne discussing the issues
associated with evening's topic.
