Sr. Gertrude Gillette

Sr. Gertrude received her B.A. from Magdalen College (NH), and her M.A. (1991) and Ph.D.—with distinction—(1996) from The Catholic University of America in Early Christian Studies/Patristics. Sister then spent 6 years in Europe, teaching in Gaming Austria (1996-1999) and working in Rome (1999-2002), where she also obtained an S.T.B. from the Angelicum and more recently an S.T.L. (summa cum laude) from the Collegio Sant’Anselmo in the field of Monastic Studies. Her doctorate was entitled: The Glory of God in Augustine’s Enarrationes in psalmos. Her licentiate thesis is entitled: Four Faces of Anger: Seneca, Evagrius, Cassian and Augustine, which is currently being considered for publication. She has published in Studia Patristica and Augustinian Studies. Along with Sr. Theresa Scheuren, O.S.B. Sr. Gertrude is establishing a new Benedictine foundation near Ave Maria University.
