Ave Maria University is now offering geographically targeted safety alerts sent to your mobile phone.
Starting now you can register at www.mobilealertnetwork.com/loop/site/avemariauniversity for this important service
The University is offering this program so that students, faculty, and staff on and off campus can stay better informed in the event of an emergency. In the aftermath of recent tragic events, we feel that this important service will help the Ave Maria family keep informed and enhance their safety in the event of an incident that affects the campus community.
Ave Maria is partnering with SquareLoop Inc., a provider of wireless location-based services (LBS), to deliver timely and relevant emergency information to your mobile phone. You must register for this service to receive these alerts. You can register for this service by visiting http://www.mobilealertnetwork.com/loop/site/avemariauniversity. Registration is fast and easy and should take about three minutes. There is no charge to you to use this service from the university or SquareLoop, however depending on your price plan from your carrier, you may receive message or data charges when the system is used. Please consult your carrier for more information.
In the event of an emergency, the Emergency Management Team will initiate messages with information about the event or instructions. Messages will only be sent for situations that the university feels has significant risk of injury to students, faculty or staff. The Mobile Alert Network differs from other emergency alert systems in that on many phones it can deliver special alert tones, longer messages, and even unique vibrating cadences if your phone is on vibrate. When you register for the system, you will be giving instructions on how to activate the service based on your carrier and phone.
This is just one step that the university is taking to keep our family safe. While you are registering for the Mobile Alert Network you can also visit our safety page to get other tips and information on how to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
Stay informed. Stay safe. Subscribe today.
