Michigan Founders Fr. Pat Egan, Doug and Shirley Reaume, Mike Grace, Mary Ghesquiere, Marita and Gyorgy Ladosenszky, Chicago Founder Jerry Vilt, and Dayton, Ohio Founders Dr. Robert and Anita Rankin journeyed to Ave Maria, Florida from February 7 (the day after Ash Wednesday) through February 10. Although the agenda and program was planned as a trip, the Holy Spirit turned it into a pilgrimage. The small group took the opportunity for fellowship and friendships to form. Ave Maria's Fr. Robert McTeigue S.J. led two powerful meditations, providing the chance to begin Lent with meaningful reflection. Highlights of the trip were:
Lunch with Mr. Monaghan, President and Mrs. Healy, Fr. Garrity, Dan and Cathy Dentino, Cathy Dailey, and Brian Scanlan.
The group very much enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Naples Princess. It was a treat to be on the Gulf of Mexico enjoying dinner and fellowship with Northern MI Founders and Naples Founders, rather than in the midst of fierce snow storms in the Midwest .
The tours through the town of Ave Maria, model homes and campus were very warm and inspiring.
Lunch at the Bean at Ave Maria located in The Piazza was delicious and the atmosphere was quite enjoyable.
We ended the trip with a visit to the beach where a dolphin greeted us!
