The Office of the Chaplain

As a Catholic university community, we at Ave Maria University acknowledge that the ultimate aim of our lives is union with God the Father through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit. Our social, intellectual, and spiritual mission as students, faculty, and staff is embedded in this vocation. We therefore place the teaching, learning, and sacramental life of the Church at the very heart of our communal life. We commit ourselves to do everything possible to deepen, strengthen, refine, and increase our Faith life as individuals and as the body of Christ. We seek to do all for the honor and glory of God and to do all that is best for our eternal destiny. Offered to all within the university community are abundant opportunities for prayer, spiritual enrichment and direction, days of recollection, retreats, and seminars. In addition to the opportunities scheduled below, there are also numerous student-initiated activities that promote spiritual, social, and intellectual growth.

The personnel and resources of the Chaplaincy Office are committed to serving the mission of Ave Maria University, especially in terms of the salvation of souls and the personal spiritual growth of the university community members. The Chaplaincy Office is committed to the revitalization of Catholic higher education, based on the unity of faith and human knowledge, in accord with the Church's Apostolic Constitution on Catholic Universities, Ex Corde Ecclesiae, by Pope John Paul II.
