Mother Assumpta LongMother Mary Assumpta Long, O.P. is the Prioress General and one of four founding members of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Community was formed in response to the call of Pope John Paul II issued in his Post-Synodal Exhortation, Vita Consecrata, to establish new foundations that will “bear witness to the constant attraction which the total gift of self to the Lord…continues to exert even on the present generation (VC, 12).” The Community has grown from four to 73 sisters since its foundation ten years ago in February, 1997, and presently has sisters teaching in three dioceses. Mother Assumpta holds a S.T.L. in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas. She has formerly served as President of the Forum of Major Superiors and has also served on various boards, including the Institute on Religious Life. Term: Appointed September 2004 |
Dr. Thomas M. LoomeMr. Loome has two professions: Catholic theologian and antiquarian bookseller. In 1975 he was awarded a doctorate in Catholic theology magna cum laude by the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Tübingen (Germany). He continues to be active as a theologian in the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis, both as a lecturer and as a teacher of classes for adults on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. He has been published in learned journals in Great Britain, Germany, and the USA. Among his teachers in Tübingen were Walter Kasper, Joseph Ratzinger, and his doctoral father, Max Seckler. Tom is also a sole proprietor of Loome Theological Booksellers (Stillwater, Minnesota), the world’s largest specialists in rare and out-of-print books in the areas of theology and philosophy. With his wife Karen (who as a RN is nurse manager of Stillwater’s crisis pregnancy center) he is co-founder of the Stillwater Catholic Worker Community, with three “houses of hospitality” for women and children Inspired by the life and example of Dorothy Day, Thomas and Karen are slowly embracing a life of evangelical simplicity and non-violence. George H. MaleyMr. Maley is the retired President and CEO of National Underwriters, Inc., a company which he founded in 1960. A native of Indiana, he is a graduate engineer from Purdue University and a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania where he earned his MBA. Following his schooling, he served as a Management Analysis Officer in the United States Air Force. He is a Knight in the Order of Malta and also a Knight of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. He is a past president of Serra International and serves as a Director of Catholic Radio 89.1 FM in Indianapolis. George is a published automobile historian, having been active in this hobby for most of his adult life. He is co-founder of the Legatus Chapter of Indianapolis and is presently serving as its president. George and his wife, Bette-Jane (BJ), have five children and nine grandchildren. William McIntyreMr. McIntyre is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allegra Network LLC, based in Northville, Michigan. Allegra Network was founded in 1976 and is one of the world’s largest graphic communications franchisors of printing and sign businesses. The company was recently ranked as the best in its industry and the 20th fastest growing franchisor in Entrepreneur Magazine’s 24th Annual Franchise 500 ranking. Allegra Network has more than 600 locations, mostly in the United States and Canada. Before taking his position with Allegra Network, Mr. McIntyre was a principal in a small venture capital firm and operating a company specializing in eastern European imports. He also headed the international operations for the Monroe Auto Equipment Company for more than 20 years; for seven of those years he was based in Switzerland and Belgium. Mr. McIntyre received his education at the University of Detroit and the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the Detroit President’s Organization, Legatus, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. A long time resident of Monroe, Michigan, Mr. McIntyre and his wife, Susan, have four grown children and six grandchildren. Term: Appointed September 2004 |
darius f. mosunDarius F. Mosun is the Chair & CEO of Soheil Mosun Limited (“SML”), a company co-founded by his parents in 1972. Under Darius’s leadership SML has evolved into a world-renowned manufacturer specializing in high-end custom fabrication and design. Born in Toronto, Canada, Darius holds Manufacturing Engineering and Business Management diplomas from the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, where he graduated in 1990. He was nominated to represent Humber College in the 2001 Premier’s Awards and was also inducted into the College’s Alumni Wall of Distinction in 2002. Darius began working full time at SML after graduating in 1990 and held various positions at the company over the years, including Project Manager, Production Manager, Vice-President Operations and Vice-President Business Development. Today, with Darius’s guidance, one of recently awarded projects to SML includes a contract to build a Bahá'í Temple in Chile designed by Canadian architect Siamak Hariri of Hariri Pontarini Architects and constructing the Jewish War Veterans International Memorial in Toronto, designed by world renown architect Daniel Libeskind. Darius participates as a speaker in architectural and construction trade shows and seminars. Recent appearances were at Kean University Technology Transfer, The Green Architecture Imperative: Design Collaboration and at Construct Canada® Canada’s Largest Annual Building Design & Construction Show, Managing Digital Fabrication: Improving the Dialogue of Design from Idea to Manufacture.
