denise cobbMrs. Cobb had a 25-year career in television, including being an award winning television producer, on-air talent, manager, and consultant and station owner. She began her career as an anchor and producer at a CBS station in West Virginia and from there went on to anchor news programs at ABC and NBC affiliates. Denise was one of the original news anchors at CNN and later joined News Travel Network as a correspondent and producer. In 2000, Denise was named one of Southwest Florida’s Men & Women of the Year by Gulfshore Life magazine. Along with her husband, Brian, she was also named the 2004 “Philanthropist of the Year” by the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Collier County. Major General J.T. CoyneGeneral Coyne was born in Marcellus, NY, and graduated from LeMoyne College in 1959 with a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts. In June 1964 he graduated from Georgetown Law Center, receiving his J.D. General Coyne was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps, serving on active duty from 1964 to 1967. Upon release from active duty, General Coyne pursued a legal career as an attorney in private practice while concurrently serving in the Marine Corps Reserve in a variety of billets and increasingly responsible command assignments leading ultimately to his promotion to Major General in December 1991. After serving in a mobilization assignment as the Commanding General, 4th Marine Division, from June 1992 to July 1993 and as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Affairs from July 1993 to July 1995, General Coyne took an early retirement from his law firm and returned to active duty as the Deputy Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico, VA. While in this position he was nominated and selected for the position of Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. He served in this position until his retirement in January 1997. Upon retirement he was awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal. He is a past national president of the Marine Corps Reserve Officers Association and a past board member of the Marine Corps University Foundation and the Marine Corps Historical Foundation. LOUIS R. DEPRISCOMr. DePrisco received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1953. He retired after 43 years with the same multinational chemical company, having direct responsibility for domestic and overseas procurement, distribution and sales. His experience includes designing, building and operating small and large production projects, forming corporate organizations, and negotiating international contracts. He taught Business Ethics, Procurement, and Negotiations courses at Penn State University Graduate School of Business, and was business liaison at Drexel Institute of Technology. After retiring to Naples in 1992, he purchased a local custom home building business. Mr. DePrisco was parish or finance council President and/or Treasurer in three states, plus finance council member in Naples. He helped found parish grade schools in Chattanooga, TN, Louisville, KY and Wilmington, DE and was a founder of Royal Palm Academy located in Naples, FL. He was named to the original Ave Maria University Founders Club, Naples Board of Directors as Treasurer, and is currently the President of the Naples Legatus Chapter. Term: Appointed April 2005 |
dr. candace derussyDr. Candace de Russy is a nationally recognized writer and lecturer on education and cultural issues. A former college professor, she was appointed to the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Air Force Academy by President George W. Bush in 2002; in 2005, when her term ended, she received the Air Force’s Exceptional Service Award. For over a decade she has served on the State University of New York Board of Trustees. In 2004 Dr. de Russy was named an Adjunct Fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., where she focuses on governance, strategic planning, assessment, accountability, funding and other issues in higher education. In 2005 she became a Member of the Committee on the Present Danger, which is dedicated to protecting and expanding democracy by winning the global war against terrorism and the movements and ideologies that drive it. Dr. de Russy holds a doctorate in French from Tulane University, a Master of Arts from Middlebury College's Sorbonne-based program and a B.A. from St. Mary’s Dominican College of New Orleans. From 2000 to 2002 she served on the advisory board of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. She is a member of the Association of Literary Scholars and Critics and other professional societies. charles faustMr. Faust is co-owner and partner in various hotel properties in Florida, Kentucky, Colorado and New Mexico. A native of Illinois, he received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Illinois in 1958. He passed the CPA Examination in November 1958 and is a retired managing partner of Kemper CPA Group and has been licensed in Illinois, Indiana, California and Florida. Mr. Faust was formerly a Director and Shareholder in banks in Illinois, Indiana and Florida and remains as a Director of Tempco Products Company, a Midwestern window manufacturer. He and his wife Karen Faust are the parents of six and grandparents of fifteen. Mr. Faust resides in Broward County, Florida and is also a part-time resident of Rancho Santa Fe, California. Carlos A. FigueroaMr. Figueroa is a Senior Vice President of Dominick & Dominick LLC. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and has been a resident in Miami, FL since 1981. He received a Bachelor of Science degree (Finance) from Fairfield University in 1970 and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from New York University in 1973. Mr. Figueroa is the founding President of the Miami Founders Club. He serves as Treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at his Epiphany Parish. He is the Founder of The Apostles Foundation, Inc., a newly formed 501(c)3 corporation consisting of individuals that have come together for the promulgation of the Catholic faith through the Study of Theology. He is the recipient of the Ex Corde Ecclesiae Medal awarded by The Aquinas Center for Theological Renewal at Ave Maria University in 2006.
