Ave Maria University was honored to host over 260 people from parishes from all around the state of Florida and the country for the 5th Annual Ave Maria University Catholic Youth Conference July 6-8th 2012. The theme of this year’s conference “Overflow” was a reflection on the scripture verse John 10:10 - “I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”

The youth who attended the conference came to know God through the speakers, prayers, and songs but most especially through His powerful presence in confession and Adoration. They experienced that God’s desire for us is the abundance of life, overflowing with the joy of complete union with Him now and for eternity. After completing the weekend the testimonies of the youth were proof that they had encountered the living Jesus and that He was real and that He has an amazing plan for their lives.

“People today need to be reminded of that ultimate purpose of their lives. They need to recognize that implanted within them is a deep thirst for God. They need to be given opportunities to drink from the wells of His infinite love.” – Pope Benedict XVI said during his address to the US Bishops in 2008. These high school age youth were filled to overflowing with the graces and mercy of God and now are ready to share what they have received and make a difference in the world!
