Elizabeth Gotlund on music study at AMU …
“The education in music that I received at Ave Maria University was superb and helped me to be well-prepared for graduate studies. Before coming to AMU, I knew some basic music theory and history, how to read musical notation, and had performance experience, thinking that was all there was to the study of music and that advanced studies in music would simply increase my skill level. However, as a student of the music department at AMU, I was introduced to so much more— I learned about music in its context as a liberal art, and I developed a great appreciation for the musical tradition of the Church. The classes are challenging, engaging, and worthwhile; the professors are top-notch and devote great amounts of care and time for each student. I regard the decision to study music at AMU as one of the most important decisions in my life.”
