Biography
Professor Peliska holds the degrees of B.S. (Chemistry) and B.S. (Biology) from Northland College, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State University. Dr. Peliska’s research interests include the study of the mechanisms of mutation generation in retroviruses leading to the development of drug resistance, and the discovery and characterization of inhibitors of retroviral (HIV) replication. Other current research involves the development of novel bio-receptor technologies for the detection and monitoring of environmental hazards.
