Accounting/Business

Ave Maria University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Accounting or Business beginning in Fall 2015. Applicants should hold a doctorate and be able to teach courses in principles and intermediate accounting, taxation, and/or auditing; other teaching fields in business also considered. Professional experience in the field of accounting is valued, as well as an interest in developing internship opportunities for students. Rank and salary are dependent on experience and credentials.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a copy of graduate transcript, a statement relating their philosophy of teaching to the University’s Catholic mission as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to Dr. Gabriel Martinez.

Elementary Education Faculty Opportunities

The Department of Education at Ave Maria University invites applications for part-time faculty positions as we build our Elementary Education program.  Part-time faculty hired will become vital members of the University’s developing teacher preparation program.  These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are generally taught in a face-to-face setting, although some online courses may be offered.

(Preferred degree for this course is a Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Special/Exceptional Education)

(Preferred degree for these courses is a Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Elementary Education or Curriculum and Instruction)

·         Teaching Art, Music & PE in the Classroom

·         Teaching Language Arts in the Classroom

·         Teaching Mathematics in the Classroom

·         Teaching Science & Social Studies in the Classroom

 

(Preferred degree for these courses is a Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Reading OR Curriculum & Instruction with 18 graduate hours in Reading and Literacy)

(Preferred degree for these courses is a Doctoral or Master’s Degree in TESOL, Bilingual Education, TESOL Literacy OR Curriculum & Instruction with 18 graduate hours in TESOL/Bilingual Education)

Minimum Qualifications

·         Master's degree in Education and appropriate area is required

·         3 years of K-12 teaching experience

·         Knowledge of teaching best practices and Florida State Standards to include Common Core Curriculum

·         A commitment to a Catholic liberal arts education as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae

Preferred Qualifications

·         Doctoral degree in Education and appropriate area is required

·         3 years of K-6 teaching experience

·         Prior undergraduate teaching experience

·         Knowledge of teaching best practices and Florida State Standards to include Common Core Curriculum

·         A commitment to a Catholic liberal arts education as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae

·         Proficiency in use of BlackBoard and on-line course management systems (TK20).

·         Clinical Supervision (12 hours) for field component courses.

·         ESOL Certification or 45 Contact Hours in ESOL coursework.
