Assistant Mathematics Professor

Position Title: Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Ave Maria University seeks broadly trained candidates for an assistant professor position in mathematics beginning July 1, 2015, subject to final administrative approval.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in mathematics, an active program of research, teaching experience, and a commitment to the University's mission to educate the whole person in light of the Catholic liberal arts tradition as expressed in the document Ex Corde Ecclesiae.

Position Description:
The primary duties of the successful applicant will be teaching mathematics courses (both in the core curriculum and the mathematics major), research, and institutional service. Exceptional candidates active in any area are encouraged to apply, although preference may be given to persons working in geometric topology, noncommutative differential geometry, operator algebras, or mathematical physics.

Assistant Professor of Psychology

Ave Maria University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position as Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning in the fall of 2015.  Ph.D. or doctoral equivalent desired.  Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship, as well as ability to relate the field of Psychology to the Catholic anthropological tradition.  Ideal candidates would have interest and ability to teach courses such as Cognitive Neuroscience, Quantitative Research, Cognition and Learning, Psychopathology, and Positive Psychology, although other areas of specialization within an undergraduate psychology curriculum will also be considered.  Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, and a short statement relating the University’s Catholic mission to their philosophy of teaching as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae to:

Chemistry

The Department of Biology and Chemistry at Ave Maria University invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to teach general chemistry lab and possibly organic chemistry lab to begin in Spring 2015. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Chemistry are strongly preferred but a MS degree with teaching experience will also be considered.

Ave Maria University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Accounting or Business beginning in Fall 2015. Applicants should hold a doctorate and be able to teach courses in principles and intermediate accounting, taxation, and/or auditing; other teaching fields in business also considered. Professional experience in the field of accounting is valued, as well as an interest in developing internship opportunities for students. Rank and salary are dependent on experience and credentials.

Elementary Education Faculty Opportunities

The Department of Education at Ave Maria University invites applications for part-time faculty positions as we build our Elementary Education program.  Part-time faculty hired will become vital members of the University’s developing teacher preparation program.  These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are generally taught in a face-to-face setting, although some online courses may be offered.

·         Proficiency in use of BlackBoard and on-line course management systems (TK20).

·         Clinical Supervision (12 hours) for field component courses.

·         ESOL Certification or 45 Contact Hours in ESOL coursework.
