The little way is a life of union with the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It consists in complete abandonment to God and complete trust in His Holy and Perfect Will for us. By taking the little way, one's worries and fears dissolve in the love of the Father. One is lifted up into the depths of God's love and that is all she can see. All becomes pleasant and sweet to her, for all that comes to her each day comes straight from the Hand of God and she knows that all God brings to her is for her good, her sanctification, and her attainment of eternal life. Knowing this she lovingly accepts all.

The little way is not only a matter of accepting all that comes, but it also consists in fulfilling all that one's daily life calls for. This way reveals to a soul the importance and weight of miniscule tasks. It reveals to a soul Life-Jesus Himself. By knowing and loving Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the soul falls so deeply in love with Him that all things are most pleasant and satisfying when done for Him. This love elevates all that one does-from brushing teeth in the morning to picking up after children to washing dishes-it encompasses all things. This love also brings to the soul a desire to be hidden deep in the Mantle of Mary where a heart is closest to Jesus. Soon one's desires and intentions are out of pure love and the soul cares only what her Lord thinks of her and how she can please Him. One begins to make many acts of faith, hope, and love throughout the day...
