| Ave Maria University, by virtue of its mission and identity, is a Catholic university committed to education in the liberal arts, to formation in moral virtue, and to pre-professional preparation in response to societal needs. The study of the liberal arts helps students to become leaders and managers able to face the uncertainty of life and to judge events with wisdom and perspective. |
| |
To complement students' liberal education and their formation in moral virtue, Ave Maria University offers a Certificate in Business (CiB) program through the Institute for Business. The CiB requires intensive coursework and offers students opportunities to gain practical experience, career guidance, and mentoring. Through the CiB, inside and outside the classroom, students learn principles and skills valuable in business and entrepreneurship. These activities are infused with Catholic teaching in order to inspire the students of the Institute to become Christian business leaders who will help to transform the countries in which they live. | ![]() |

Executive Conferences Institute students are encouraged to participate in regular talks given by business practitioners and others. The speakers will be available for personal conversation with students. The Institute will partner with Legatus and with other organizations and individuals to bring Chief Executive Officers and high-level executives on campus. The Business Institute will start its series of lectures this semester with Joseph P. George (former Executive Vice President for Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc. - the world's leading media research and consulting organization) talk on "The importance of marketing and branding to mass media in this very cluttered media world". Internships The Institute facilitates and requires participation in an internship. Students thus gain actual experience in the business world before they graduate. Internships give students an opportunity to expand their background by working in a business firm or organization while they strengthen their technical, communication, and analytical skills. The Institute maintains close supervision on the quality of the internship opportunities: students are expected to perform very well in them.
